Membership Application

What is Pi Sigma Alpha?

  • Founded in 1920 at University of Texas
  • National Honor Society for undergraduate and graduate Political Science students
  • Over 600 chapters in the United States

What are the benefits of membership? (all links below open a new window)

  • All members, regular and honorary, receive a certificate of membership and permanent enrollment.
  • Upon request, the National Office will provide letters verifying membership to prospective employers or graduate schools.
  • Members can apply for federal government positions listed at a higher entry-level grade than nonmember candidates within the United States Office of Personnel Management.
  • Members are entitled to wear the key at any time.
  • Member can wear the medallion and honor cord with cap and gown at graduation and on other official occasions.
  • Scholarship opportunities for graduate programs, the Washington semester and Best Papers awards.
